Engineers’ House is a Grade II listed conference centre in Clifton Down, a prestigious suburb of Bristol. It was built in 1831 by Charles Dyer, a leading Bristol architect. The most famous owner of the house was Charles Pinney, who was the Mayor of Bristol during the Bristol City Riots, and although it is sometimes referred to as ‘The Mayor’s House’, it was actually the private home of the Pinney family between 1835 and 1867. The building has a 19th century elegance and charm and the picturesque grounds overlook Westbury Park. Whilst the venue itself is steeped in history, the IT and conference facilities are absolutely state-of-the-art. Engineers’ House is AIM accredited, an indication of the quality of service and facilities you can expect to find. Less than three miles from Bristol Temple Meads Station and easily accessible from both the M4 and the M5. 23 meeting rooms, beautiful grounds and tailored packages for up to 170 delegates in the main suite alone.

We’re focused on creating a safe and welcoming environment for all our visitors
As we now look towards the welcome reopening of our venues, we’re working hard to support our clients and partners to adjust to the ‘new normal’.
It’s always been the ambition of Make Venues to open in a way that gives you the reassurance you need to focus on your event and your delegates’ experience - never taking our eye off two critical elements; our duty of care to our clients and our commitment to deliver consistently high standards to our customers.
With this in mind, we have created a COVID-19 Duty of Care Policy, Make Venues Risk Assessment and Delegate Information card.
The documents detail the new procedures we have in place, which offer the same high level of health, safety, wellbeing and customer service that you have come to expect from our venues.
Should you wish to discuss our policies or explore how we can support your event, please get in touch.
We look forward to welcoming you back to our venues soon.
